Why is Xtaero Boats quickly becoming the talk of the aluminum boat market?
Everyone who works or plays in waters that seem to always get perilous depend on a seaworthy ride. Everyone, no matter the waters, appreciates handmade quality and long-lasting construction. Xtaero scratches that itch, acutely.
Xtaero Boats was created in 2013 and brought together a team with rugged boat building skills to create a better, more capable boat in performance, strength and usability, which translates, into – tangible net gains in available days on the water given weather and mission requirements, and as importantly, longevity and resale.
Xtaero Boats is owned by an ex-Coast Guard fast boat driver and current and past customers are professional boat captains, who buy the boats largely for private use as personal rides. Through study and trial and error, Xtaero has learned how to make these capable boats extremely strong without adding unnecessary weight; all this at an affordable price compared to bigger strictly custom builders.
With an ever-expanding list of models and options to choose from the most recently launched is an Xtaero XT24DV Long Cabin for a customer in Homer, Alaska. The long cabin that gives anglers more room to get out of the sun or weather while still having plenty of cockpit to fish or work. There are also plans underway for a 28-foot model with a 9’6″ beam, which will be available to build in mid July. Usually there is only 60-90 days from order to taking delivery of an Xtaero. Check it out if you are in the market for the best riding and longest-lasting aluminum boat available.
Designed by Jarek Kanios, the hull form is a proprietary modified constant deadrise with variable width chine flats and includes four special lifting and control strakes at precise locations. The cabin, engines, and deck layout can be customized for your needs. “We build semi-custom boats meaning that each customer selects their options and we go about building that boat to order,” says Xtaero owner, Travis Brandt.
This design has proven itself during some extreme conditions like the Pacific Yachting Challenge and the blazingly fast trek from Anchorage, AK to Homer, AK in wintertime. “The boat takes everything you can give it and more. It’s ride and strength makes it a very comfortable and safe seaworthy boat, which is important since the lives of you, your family, and friends, or clients will be riding on it.” notes Brandt.
Its for these reasons that seasoned boat captains like Caitlin Crandall, owner of Alaska Bit Company has chosen Xtaero as her boat of choice for her business. Captain Caitlin has been driving aluminum boats in the Arctic for ten years and she says, “this is the most seaworthy aluminum boat I’ve been on and I’ve run over 30 different types of boats during my career.” Working in Alaska, Caitlin has to work even during extreme conditions so a safe, reliable boat was the best investment for her company.
Another commercial customer in the Prudhoe Bay area of the Arctic Ocean is having a custom XT22DV single outboard made for delivery this summer.
“Our customers demand rugged.” Brandt says, “If you can do without boating around in an off-the-shelf thin-skinned aluminum tub then you are at the right place. Xtaero Boats is the real deal and we are pragmatic about building a legacy over time. Our defining attribute is that we simply get it done in rough water. We incorporate fully welded self-bailing decks, effective reverse chines, serious headroom in the cabin, welded handrails, welded cleats and functional high gunwales in and out of the boat. We promise that if you take a ride on one, Xtaero Boats will change the way you see boats, forever.”
