BD Outdoors was originally founded as Bloodydecks.com in 2003 by a couple of San Diego fishermen who were looking to share fishing information with other local anglers. The site was a simple internet forum with a no holds barred format that anglers quickly embraced.
Over the first few years’ traffic grew exponentially as fishermen flocked to a site where they could speak their mind and learn more about their sport. The forums quickly filled up with a cast of characters and fishing reports from all over the west coast began to flood in. These reports and other fishing information attracted unprecedented traffic and the site’s reach began to span the nation and the globe.
After a few short years, Bloodydecks.com became the worlds largest sportfishing site literally stuffed with millions of pages of user generated content. The sites founders continued to foster the growth of the site using guerilla marketing techniques and search engine optimization.
In 2011 the company took on a new direction and launched BDOutdoors.com.
BD Outdoors was a major evolution of the site bringing a new format, new look and top tier editorial content. This content included tips, tricks, industry news, articles by pros and much more. The readers and fishing industry embraced the new format and the site continued to grow in short order. In the first twelve months of it’s existence, BD Outdoors published over 400 pieces of unique custom content.
