Sarah Burke Joins Shimano As Senior Marketing Manager

In a role continuing to position the Shimano fishing brands as industry leaders in innovation and design, Sarah Burke joins the tackle manufacturer as senior marketing manager, announces Steve Ferrara, Shimano North America Fishing, Inc. senior vice president. She is based out of Shimano’s operations in Ladson, S.C.

sarah burkeBurke comes to Shimano after overseeing marketing efforts for Vail Resorts Retail and brings consumer goods expertise from experience at Osprey Packs.

In her new position, she is leading the marketing staff in efforts for all brands and products, including Shimano rods, reels, lures and lifestyle gear, G. Loomis rods, PowerPro braided line, and Jackall lures.

“We look forward to Sarah’s marketing background and knowledge at the retail level and how it will help our business, especially with both independent and key multi-store fishing tackle shops,” said Ferrara. “Her skill set in retail sales and marketing will be a benefit to all our brands.”

A graduate of Marlboro College in Vermont, Burke earned an MBA from Colorado State University and a Masters in Sports Management/Marketing from the University of Tennessee. An avid whitewater kayaker, she currently serves on the Board for the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education, and received the ‘First Ascent Award’ for demonstrating leadership from the Outdoor Industry Women’s Coalition.
