FLIR, the parent company for Raymarine has announced an exciting tool for boaters using Raymarine’s LightHouse operating system. The new graphical weather forecast viewer uses the Theyr global weather data service offering finely tuned weather data on demand and displays it directly on a Raymarine multifunction navigation display unit.
The information is downloaded via Wi-Fi connectivity from any source; dockside, phone hot-spot, or satellite feed.

- Sea surface temperature (0.5 degree and 0.083 degree)
- NEXRAD (USA and portions of Canada and Caribbean)
- Tidal Stream (NOC) 0.02 degree (Northwest Europe)
Theyr is recognized as a leader in delivering precise weather and ocean forecasts for recreational and professional mariners, commercial shipping, and the offshore wind energy industry. The high-detail Theyr weather forecasts include important meteorological information, including wind speed, atmospheric pressure, precipitation, air temperature, sea surface temperature, and wave heights. Boaters in northern Europe can also access tidal stream data, and United States boaters have access to NEXRAD Doppler weather radar.

Raymarine owners can download the latest version of LightHouse OS at Raymarine.com. The Theyr Global Precision Weather forecast service is available for a free 30-day trial and a monthly($14.95) or yearly($99) subscriptions. Once a subscriber, you can also access mobile and web applications to track weather even when your not boating.
