“Get action. Do things. Be sane. Don’t fritter away your time. Create. Act. Take a place wherever you are, and be somebody. Get action.” -Teddy Roosevelt
Even back then, Teddy Roosevelt understood the vital importance of getting younger generations connected to the outdoors. Well, nothing could be truer than that in today’s world of smart phones and video games, where many kid’s idea of the outdoors is loading up Duck Hunt. The outdoorsmen at Rapala get it too, and many of us have fishing memories that revolve around Rapala lures from our childhood.
We owe it to them to let them experience the size of the world and the infinite wonder it holds.
That is something you can’t get through the TV no matter how big or high-def the screens have become. They need to see it, smell it, touch it and develop the love for it as so many generations before them have done. After all, they are the ones who need to preserve it and the access to it for future generations to come. So let’s all get those kids fishing somewhere, somehow!
