Fly Navarro is joined by Tim Bausch of Bausch-American Towers for a lesson on how to prevent corrosion between stainless fasteners or screws and aluminum rigging. This is a very important step in making your boat last and be repairable when the time comes.
Stop the evil white corrosion between stainless and aluminum!
A simple coat of Tef-Gel or similar teflon lubricant on stainless boat fasteners before they are put in aluminum will make them removable for years to come. Without it, the dissimilar metals will react with each other and they will fuse together in that evil white crust.
Fly Navarro will take us to the “Fly Zone” with his vast knowledge and list of fishing connections. Visit his Fly Zone Fishing site or Facebook to learn more or to ask Fly a question.
