A letter from the CCA of Oregon – Oregon Anglers
CCA Oregon recently sent the following email to thousands of Oregon fishing license holders alerting them to the efforts of the commercial gillnet lobby to block the historic bi-state Columbia River gillnet reforms.
We remain very concerned that the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission is considering walking away from the plan — in large part due to the influence of gillnet industry advocate Bruce Buckmaster, who was appointed to the Commission last year by Oregon Governor Kate Brown.
Many of you responded to our recent call to send personalized emails to the ODFW Commission and ODFW Director Curt Melcher in opposition to this cynical effort – thank you!
We need to ask you to step up once again to defend these critical reforms — TAKE 3 STEPS TO DEFEND THE COLUMBIA RIVER GILLNET REFORMS:
Step 1: CLICK HERE to send a pre-drafted email directly to Governor Brown and ODFW in defense of the Columbia River reforms.
Step 2: Join us at 9am on Wednesday, November 9 at the ODFW Commission meeting in Salem (4034 Fairview Industrial Drive SE). Please wear your CCA hat and bring a friend!
Step 3: Forward this email to your friends and family — urge them to watch the video. Ask them to send the email and join you in Salem for this critical meeting. Urge them to become a member of CCA Oregon to help defend these critical reforms! Join CCA Oregon HERE.
Now is the time to act – for the fish and to protect our opportunity to fish!
