The Local Knowledge team is excited to announce a partnership with the StarCom Racing/Superior Essex NASCAR Racing team . These groups have combined talents to bring a sport fishing theme to 2018 Ford EcoBoost NASCAR Championship Race held at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday November 18, 2018.
The Local Knowledge team has worked closely with the Superior Essex crew to design a one of a kind mahi mahi race car design. The 00 car driven by Landon Cassill will feature the wild, new mahi mahi graphics package.
Local Knowledge co-host Ali Hussainy was quoted as saying “We are super stoked to team up with the Superior Essex crew to bring some fishing flavor to the NASCAR circuit in South Florida. We can’t thank the guys at Superior Essex enough for this incredible opportunity”.
The Local Knowledge 00 car will compete head to head with the Superior Essex 99 car driven by Kyle Weatherman sponsored by International Marine. Kyle’s 99 car will feature a blue marlin graphics package for 2018 Ford EcoBoost 400 race. The teams have coined the race “The Marlin vs. Mahi Championship”.

Local Knowledge will air the NASCAR episode in April 2019 with the start of Season 4.
Local Knowledge is a different kind of outdoor program with a focus on more than just fishing. The show follows co-hosts Rush Maltz and Ali Hussainy as they experience new locations, personalities and fisheries through the eyes of two very different fishermen. Rush is a lifelong Key West fishing guide while Ali Hussainy co-founded BDOutdoors.com and has fished around the globe. Rush Maltz said “I’m excited to bring together our two great sports on prime-time TV right here in our South Florida backyard”.
