BD: What types of fishing have you done?

Christine Pulliam: I’ve been bass fishing, sight fishing the flats, and offshore trolling. There are three types of fishing that I have not done; fly-fishing, noodling, and ice fishing, which I really want to do.

BD: What is your favorite kind of fishing so far?

Christine Pulliam: I love offshore fishing, but I spend most of my time fishing mosquito lagoon for redfish. I love to sight fish for them. It’s a more active type of fishing. Scanning the water for any movement or tails and then the challenge of making the perfect cast in front of them. It’s an amazing feeling when it all comes together.

BD: What are some future goals or plans pertaining to fishing?

Christine Pulliam: I would love to get sponsored as a lady angler and fish a lot more tournaments. I could be a role model for younger girls, letting them know that girls can fish too; that it’s not just a guy sport.

BD: What aspect of fishing do you like the most?

Christine Pulliam: I’m known as a “mermaid”. I love being on the water and fishing it’s so peaceful. My dad recently passed away (he was my best friend) and when I’m out there I can feel him on the open water with me. I’m a daddy’s girl, we were always outdoors together. So when I’m out in nature, I feel him. It’s amazing to me. It’s more to me than just fishing.

BD: Tell us some of your proudest moments in fishing?

Christine Pulliam: I would have to say hooking and reeling in a 45-inch cobia off the manta rays was a highlight. All the guys didn’t think I could do it, but I hooked and fought him myself. It was some fight, but so fun.

BD: What other “aspects of you” would you like to share?

Christine Pulliam: I live the simple life. My mom is my world. I don’t take anything for granted.

I plan on making everyone around me smile and to live each day to the fullest. I try to remind people that things could always be worse and to find the good in everything.
