Virginia Salvador of Gatecrasher Charters and her friend Annie Nagel fish the rockfish opener in San Francisco bay.
Fishing the rockfish opener is always exciting for California anglers up and down the coast. The rockfish season has been closed to boaters for four months and everyone is anxious to make some incredible fish tacos. “We like to take our kayaks out for the opener of rockfish season because it allows us to tap into places that others can’t go,” says Virginia Salvador of Gatecrasher Charters. “We love fishing the San Francisco Bay area because it has so much to offer anglers. Using modern-day kayaks leaves nothing wanting; we have pedal power, fish finders and the ability to enjoy the solitude out on the water.”
Gerber’s Magnipliers are designed to be easy to grip and fully functional. The trigger-style grip was built to maintain your line of sight when working in tight spaces and the thumb lock and ambidextrous tether points ensure safe stowage and transport while on the move.
Gerber’s new SALT Rx™ process reduces corrosion from the harshest salty environments. “When we kayak fish, we are right down at the water level. It’s almost guaranteed that our gear is going to get salty, so it is important that we use tools made to hold up against the salt trip after trip,” said Virginia.
