Japanese sea bass line class record – Suzuki 8 pound Record

Japanese sea bass line class record

On November 11, 2011, Japanese angler Norifumi Yamamoto traveled from his hometown of Wakayama to fish the shoreline of Kushimoto, Japan in search of Japanese sea bass (Suzuki) (Lateolabrax japonicus). Yamamoto was not disappointed, as he landed this impressive 8.65 kg (19-pound, 1-ounce) Suzuki while casting a Daiwa shiner. After a 25-minute battle from shore, Yamamoto landed the potential new men’s 4 kg (8-pound) Japanese sea bass line class record. The current IGFA record is 8.25 kg (18 pounds, 3 ounces).
