Ali Hussainy of Local Knowledge is a fan of large, locally caught flying fish as a bait for big bluefin tuna that have everyone amped up about SoCal offshore fishing in the last few years. “Why the tuna go crazy over these baits, I have no idea,” said Ali. “We can offer up all types of lures and baits to the bluefin when they are being picky, but serve them up this giant flying fish on the surface and they have to have it.”
