Left shelter island at 6 this morning with an awsome scoop of bait, didn't loose one all day. Flew down to the 425 in smooth seas and was in the area just after 7. First kelp of the day was loaded with 12 lb yellows and quickly put 2 in the boat on the iron. After getting those 2 they shut off.
Continued south east of the 425 and hit a 1.5 degree temp break. This area is absolutely loaded with bluefin and kelps with no boats around. There was schools as far as the eye could see in every direction. We threw everything we had at them poppers, stick baits, nomads, snipers, irons and bait and they wanted nothing to do with us.
Finally around 1130 the wind picked up enough to fish the kite and it was game on. We ended up going 3 for 6 on the ( yellowfin). We didn't stick any of the jumbo bluefin we saw crashing on bait but got 3 decent sized fish.
Water in this area south east of 425 was 65.5 to 66 and a little off color but loaded with bait and fish. If I was going tomorrow I would fly the kite in this area. Good luck!
