El Morrow loaded with large pargo on the surface. We kept only 3,as thats all we needed. We used small cookies purchased from bait guy at mita marina. We trolled large cookies on downrigger a the reefs Anagolis between Morrow and Mariettas and caught a beautiful 50 pound amberjack.Water cool 75 degree ang green. We took our 9 year old mexican godson that landed 2 of the large pargo on light tackle.Pedro Vicente Chavez Guerra is his name, his father is a fisherman in La Cruz.He became our Godson at age 2.We sponsor him at a private school. He speaks english and get good grades.

Good for you Jim sponsoring the young man and teaching him how to fish. Many times when those pargo are on the surface they won't bite. I have been told they are spawning.

The name of this baitfish cookie is what the mexicans call it.It could be a yellow tail scad,It is in the jack family and doesnt get very big, maybe 3 pounds.A very durable bait, will stay alive all day.Red meat, very strong taste, but the mexicans will eat them.

On the East coast of the US the Mexican Cookie bait is called a Blue Runner. Is is a member of the scad family and as Jim says they are very durable. Dorsal fin has a very sharp point that can scrape your hand. I use to clip that off. Unlike a Goggle Eye they do get to about three pounds. Excellent bait
