Yellowtail at Coronado Islands Fri 6-29-18 Left Glorietta Bay Launch ramp in Coronado at 645am and ran into Brian Fin Runner (boats name) at the dock before we left and he said to go to the windward side of North Island for yt. Picked up a scoop of deans at ebros SD Bay and we're off to North Island Los Coronados. Best yt bite was at pukey point fairly close in then heading South about a quarter-mile (staying in fairly close to the island) then coming back to pukey. We worked the area back-and-forth several times getting numerous bites and hook ups, slow trolling deans, drifting, trolling swim baits w bright green and yellow lead heads at 4 - 4.5 knots. Probably XRaps would’ve worked great but we left them in the tackle box at home by accident. Finished the day with 15 yt and 6 bonito (2 released) and 1 released barracuda. A bunch were lost to farming and the damn dogs . The weather was rough and sloppy and I'm feeling it today. All in all a great day with my son Nick, Anh, and Armen...ready to go do it again. Thanks guys for a fun trip.
