Yep they are coming big time we stumbled it to a pretty good sized area of fish at 95 miles South of San Diego on Saturday morning and the fish were on the chew with jig stops and bait fish on Yellowfin in the 10 to 25 lb range. The stuff just popped up out of nowhere ,who cares! its here and moving North fast so get ready to kick some ass as this is a big area of fish coming right up the 117.00 line and it moved 10 miles last night busting right thru temp breaks no rhym or reason. Now for the bad news the weather has been preety good for the past 10 days and tonight its shit box, go figure fish show up and the weather screws us welcome to 2009 the year of Obamma( Disclaimer have had complaints about my Obamma coment, was meant as a joke). We ended up with 161 Yellowfin,40 Yellowtail and 23 Dorado for our 2 day trip. The photo of the guy we called Utah laying on the fish was a real drunk and pissed everyone of and only tipped the crew $5.00 for himself and his gal and they had 20 fish combined and were in every tangle, dont be this guy

Last year it was Bush, so it just figures right....

I remember when we used to get lots of Yellows in La jolla until Hillary started running...

Good news on the fish, silly reference..

I usually tip 15%-20% of the boat fare....depends on the quality of service.

He speaks the truth ! We were on the Constitution at the southern end of this roundup. We got into it probably about 5 or 6 miles south of them. We came up from San Martin and fished this bite on Saturday afternoon for about 5 hours and then again Sunday morning from sun up till 11.00 am. So thats about 6 hours and we boated over 70 YFT for 19 anglers, up to 30 lbs. Further south at 190 miles we had to work hard to find them on the edge but the grade was up to 40 lbs. The paddies were holding ganks of YT and Dorado. YT to 30 lbs., mostly chickens to 20 or so. Stop for 10 minutes and keep racing North to get in this bite. Getting jig strikes every 10 or 15 minutes 2,3, and 4 at a time. Then another 10 on the sardine. We cut a couple open and they were eating micro-dines. Jigs were regular cedar plugs, small feathers mex flag, blu-white, blk-green, etc. etc. Not likeing the junior size I put on a small Marauder, bam !, bigger grade. Getting bored I locked down the drag just to test the line and rod, came up with a set of lips on one ! Counted about 15 boats in the area, everyone had a grid it seemed and we just got farther and farther apart, everyone on stops all the time. On Saturday the jackpot went to get this, a ling cod (from San Martin) over 30 lbs. Sorry no camera, I might find one of the guests to get some pics. Also Red Snappers to over 24 inches. Amazing Snapper like I've never seen. Only boated 3 or 4 BFT. Great weekend for sure, except for that guy who had too much to drink, he was sent below to sleep. This turned into almost a 5 day trip cuz we left early and got back super late. Joe is a good boat boss and his crew is cool and quiet. Food was great, thank you everyone ! Cost was 1000 and change everything included except drinks, even cleaning. Like that boat alot.

Nice job on plugging the boat Chris!!!

No tip from Utah huh.......... it must be the norm for that state, I gotta story for you about an entire 6-pack group from Utah. After they stepped off a 2 day trip the charter master was kind enough to hand over $100 to be split between us two deckhands and the captain. We had Mx limits of YFT, BFT, AlB, & U.S. limits of YT.... for 2 days! I think I still have my $33.33.
