Anyone know what motors share the same harnesses?

Wife's 18ft pontoon is (needless to say) a bit underpowered with its Yamaha 25 high thrust. Thinking about upgrading to a 40, 50 or 60. I'm pretty sure the 703 controls and cables would work but what about the harness? Will this be plug and play?

Yes. A 10 pin harness and 703 box can run anything mechanical. 8HP to 300HP. From 20 years ago to today. Only change would be battery lead to starter, maybe

Pats %100 right, When I got my new 40 a year ago and the de-tached tiller the manual listed just about every HP. I also think the battery lead cable is the same, I'll look for the manual when I get home.

Also, before you buy a new 40ish hp, you should just buy my complete boat and swap motors, put the tiller handle on the 25 on my boat, and the controlled 40 on the pontoon. You'd be getting a newish 40 Yamaha for less than retail and then a complete bay/squid killing boat. :)
