A note about 4 cylinder yanmars
I had a 29 Tiara open with 240 4-banger yanmars
They run well they're very fuel-efficient great replacement in size and weight for gas powered V8
At 1200 RPM or less they're notorious for rattling the whole boat
Your choice in the harbor is go over the speed limit or rattle your teeth and have your guests make fun of you

I have the same 240-4's in my pursuit 2800 and they are super smooth at idle which is about 600-700.

There is a reason they call them Slampage.

You found and old thread and copied some bullshit and don’t even know what you’re talking about.... the slampage was way back in the day old design of the old 28’....Read the actual review of the 30 express. I happen to own one and I can attest that it is not a Slampage...

it’s a nicely equipped boat and has a nice ride. They went away from cored hulls in 2000, so I personally would stick to 2001 or newer.

to the OP.... I would not count the Rampage out, as they are a well equipped good boat. They ride a little high in the bow until they flatten out.
    Good luck on your search!

And what gives the guy that said it's a great ride greater credibility than the guy that call them slampage, it's all opinions you believe what suits your BS.
I fished a 1988 31'er for years, late afternoon ride back from SCI anything over 17/18 knots that boat would live up to the slampage reputation.

I don’t have to believe nothing, did you somehow miss that I own one? In the PNW, where we actually have some seas.... I know quite well how it handles and/or slams..

As I said...That’s the old ass pre-redesigned models.... 1988 = 32 years old.... As the OP stated the newer model is built on the same hull as the Shamrock 290. The hulls were built and then the final details were completed at the respective companies. Rampage calls it a 30, Shamrock calls it a 29’.....

The last 20 years are not your Slampage....

Like Grady White in the 80’s versus the early 90’s after Ray Hunt redesigned the CV2 hull. But you go ahead and live in your ignorance of the Slampage.

Or knowledge.... since your info is dated back to an old design that actually was called a Slampage you know no better than to stick to your ignorance...
