I'm on a 3 day out of Cisco's from 6/12-6/15, with a new moon on the 13th. What are my WSB chances?

100% better than if you stay on the beach. The best time to go they just whenever you can. There are other factors to increase your success rate. Like a boat and crew that fish them seriously. The 3-day trip is obviously going to improve your odds further still. I would say you are going at the right time. Check with the landing office or the boat crew and ask what their potential plans are for that trip. Best of success to you and the boat.

I don’t know what all the hub-bub is about. You just go catch the stupid things.

Got this one on Wednesday. Caught two but one was a shorty.

If we’re talking books we should throw in “The Local Angler” as well.

Or asking where to find two tablets of the Law written in stone written by the finger of God.

Nobody knows where they are. They're not called "Ghosts" for nothing.

x2 for The Local Angler as well as In the Grey. The Southern California Angler is a great read as well. Good luck! WSB are very challenging but even more rewarding.

There's also an article about this very topic in the March issue of Pacific Coast Sportfishing (geared more towards the private boater than a party boater).

I had a pretty good teacher (m.wisch) and I'll tell ya Its all about moon phase , activity periods, location with conditions. Figure it out and you only need a couple hrs to get'em instead of all day/night. Havent fished'em in 6 years or so but when I did we had about a 85-90% success rate on my ride and usually only fished a few hrs per trip. Grade was mostly good size fish from 40 to 65 along the coast or islands.
Very hard to explain all the nuances of c-bass fishing in a post. Best to try and talk face to face with a good c-bass guy. Like being a leprechaun and being asked where your pot of gold is at. Most guys aren't going to give up their secrets online.

If your ever in H.B swing by CB and give yourself some time and I can try and help ya out. PE is right up the street and you can Get "In The Gray" straight from the author.

    Good luck,
    B

Nope .. I'm just a spoiled passenger who is lucky enough to hang out with some of the best there is...
The percentage of the right guys is tiny but worth the effort to find....

Next weekends moon phase and weather looks real good! I've been very successful fishing seabass on the squid grounds between 60-100ft using frozen or live squid on reverse dropper loop. I know where I'll be easter weekend.

Fish for YT at the islands enough, and you are bound to catch one sooner or later.

You can go crazy targeting ghosts
