I'm 99% sure that 113H gears wouldn't fit a 320, Wyatt. Even if the OD of the 320 main and 113H main were the same, the OD's of the pinion gears are not. You couldn't cram the 113H pinion into the 320 bridge assembly with either main gear on the bridge and make it fit. The reverse happens if you wanted to put 320 gears into a 113H reel- the sum of the diameters of both gears in a 320 is less than the sum of the 113H gears. Result? No gear contact.

Ok, thanks. I just wasn't sure if It would fit cuz If they did I was going to swap out drags and gears for a stronger 320.

They definitely will not fit.Very close, but not close enough. But I can't see why you would want to. You'd gain very little except to slow don the retrieve...

The article said the 320 gears slipped with over 20lbs of drag and with ht100 I'd get about 25 so I didn't want to strip with gears if I used it with higher drag

The 320 reels have about the same drag power as a 4/0 model, I bought one for my Dad to use because of the level wind but it became a favorite multi purpose reel...

No, 320 has 11lbs or so of drag, my buddies 4/0 has at least 20 from last time I used it

That's what I was told, could be wrong. Ask the guys at Squidco, they may be able to give you some advice...

The Penn website lists the 320 as having 12# of drag and the 113H2 as having 20#. In my experience, these are truly maxima: That much drag will push these reels to their limit and inevitably cause problems. I consider the 320 as a 30-class reel and the 113H as a 50-class reel. Fishing heavier line and heavier drag requires a metal frame.
