We cut a few fish now and then here at work and digging through a "FEW" yellowtail I noticed "RED CRABS" . Now that might not be a big deal to some guys, 'HOWEVER" these fish are the 1st with red crabs in em , have seen all year.

These fish came from in and around the area of Abreojos,,, for what it's worth off shore... Watch for the right kind coming soon

On a recent trip uphill from the San Martin area, saw a lot of marks at the 60-90 ft depth These extended for a mile or more before petering out. Any idea if this was red crab, krill, or whatever?

I was on an 8 day aboard the RP in early July and the 23 fathom spot down at the ridge was just covered with these guys. I was surprised at how well we were doing considering the fact that the yt could have just opened their mouths and swam through 'em there were so many.

it might make it harder fishing if you cant match the hatch. i dont see to many crabs trolling through the water at 8 knots!

We spent 4 days at San Martin last week and the high spots south of the island all had 18 inch humbolt squid on them also. Have not seen them down there for a couple years now. Maybe it will happen after all!!

Last time I remember alot of tuna crabs being around we had good inshore (Horseshoe, HB Flats, etc) yellowtail fishing as well.
They look very similar to a crawdad.........we tried it, it didn't work.
