So. I didn't bring any tuna back in my July trip. Oh, lots of yellowtail which is nice. What can a west coast longranger like me do in the winter if he wants to spent 4 to 7 days away from work to bag some yellowfin or bluefin? I've seen some mention of "PV", etc. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm planning on late September/early October next year but am debating if I can wait that long.
Guadalupe Island trips for Yellowfin Tuna- Shogun, Royal star and RP. They have openings for Dec and Jan trips now- all are 6 to 7days. Bluefin- 22nd street landing -Freedom or Fortune are good choice - pick a 1.5 day now till early Dec unless cold upwelling happens with this last storm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, they are still catching BFT here on the 1 & 1 1/2 day trips. 300 yesterday according to 976 Tuna. Drive down...
You do "need to know someone" to get on a private charter, whether based out of San Diego or PV. That said, there are several boats running out of PV and if you want to fish one of those trips, try contacting Apollo, Constitution, and maybe even Journeyman. Ask if there are any openings on any of their trips, due to cancellations. I think Constitution may have something on their website or Facebook page regarding openings. Shit happens, people have to cancel, it's not an everyday occurrence but it does happen. I'm going on my first PV trip on Apollo in February. Very enthused about that!
Just posted by KIL SONG: The dates are from Dec 3 - 7, 2016 and the trip is out of PV. One angler can not join the trip and I am looking for an angler to replace him. http://www.bdoutdoors.com/forums/th...-for-3-1-2-days-with-capt-danny-osuna.643360/
Ain't that the truth! People sometimes ask how can you do those long fishing trips? All it takes is time, money, and for me, a hall pass.
