A report right from the source:

The week of May 6-May 13, 2017
The Environment:
Water – Water temps have been normal for this time of year. We had some wind mid-week, but Friday and Saturday, the water was flat and clear.
Air – Beautiful days in the mid-80's with cool mornings and evenings.
The Bottom Line:
In spite of the windy conditions early in the week, the fishing is improving!
Billfish – Striped marlin are finally showing in good numbers with quite a few released this week. Most were taken on trolled ballyhoo. Best area has been right off La Ribera to the lighthouse.
Yellowfin – The fish of the week are yellowfin biting just south of Pulmo Park off Los Frailes. Nice-size fish -- almost all taken on squid. Most anglers are limiting out. A very consistent yellowfin bite with decent-sized fish in the 10- to 30-pound range are being taken on squid south of Los Frailes.
Skipjack – Lots of skipjack still around, making great bait for pargo and jack, mostly bunched around the marina entrance. 20- to 30-pounders are common.
Roosterfish – There are a lot more roosterfish around this week; in addition to being plentiful, they are larger. Three which were taken on flies were released off the beach Friday...
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch …
Using skipjack for bait, there is a variety of inshore fish available this week, inshore has picked up with some big amberjack and pargo coming to the cleaning table daily.
