Just pulled the trigger on a pair of these for the Ottercraft. It wasn’t really in my immediate plans but things sort of led me down this path. I was doing maintenance on my 2006 Honda 150’s and decided I was going to take off the injectors and have the injector doc do their thing, as the starboard motor was running a bit rough at idle. Kind of on a whim I decided to do a compression test on them first. Port engine perfect, starboard engine good except for 1 dead hole. Faaaaaak. I called around to check on rebuild and new powerheads and was disturbed by potential costs and time frames to get it done. Being underpowered anyway I decided to look for some bigger used motors. Found a decent deal on some older lower hour Honda 225’s in Oregon but after internet searches on these motors and consult with Goatram I decided against them. Now I don’t really get depressed but according to my wife I was in a funk and a bit moody. I kept thinking the rest of my fishing season was going down the toilet. I finally decided to check on new repower costs and went into a bit of a tailspin for a couple more days. After talking to the family and some soul searching I decided to do it. I have to tell you I gave 3 WA dealers a shot as well as 3 Oregon dealers. Two Oregon dealers were neck and neck but they both were substantially cheaper than WA dealers even with me doing the rigging in the Wa quotes. Sportcraft Marine in Milwaukee Ore beat the best WA quote by a good amount with complete rigging included. Props to Sportcraft Marine. They seem very knowledgeable about their products and easy to deal with. Now the trigger is pulled I am pretty pumped to be getting a well powered boat in time for Summer Kings. I will be towing the boat down to Sportcraft a week from this coming Thursday!

300s might make it look big, but 200s are perfect

Your boat is a TANK! I’m sure you’re going to love all the extra 100hp.

    Hmmmm.
Did they give you a trade in for the old motors?
Will Wa State sales tax be charged?
I'd so love to swap out my single 300 for a pair of 200's but.....

Those Suzuki’s are super solid motors and light to boot. You are going to be really happy with the upgrade.

Zukes are on my shortlist if I were to need an outboard

What did you do with the one good motor? I have someone who might be interested.

I am still going to flush injectors on good motor and new plugs etc. before trying to pedal it and the parts motor. Not sure when I will get around to it though. Already have several people interested. I will probably post it here so keep a look out.

Does this repower mean you will be working longer? Good, might mean more fish for the rest of us. You also might have gotten a package deal for a squirrel training book and a leash!

Have a buddy that swapped 150 Hondas for 200 Zuks on a 26' NR, more power and better fuel milage. He ended up at the same dealer.

I think I have 1439 hrs on them. I figured I would get at least double that out of them. I should have pulled the injectors sooner and had them flushed as the working theory is a dribbling injector on that one hole caused it to heat up and score cylinder and seize the rings. Its also possible it has carbon related valve issues but I always used good non e fuel and opened up a bit at the end of each trip so who knows. It is amazing how well it still runs especially at planing speeds. Some body with more time and energy than I may get a screamin deal on that motor.

Welcome Steve to the low end grunt crowd! Phat is true.

Consider a new boat name. My Montana relatives wanted to name mine "Baby's got Back"... didn't fly with the boss so that name is still available.

Good choice Steve. All of these Washington dealers need to get over themselves and engine pricing. It’s ridiculous how much more they are. Did you try Brian Koch at International Marine in Florida? He will ship to you With controls and props. Bet he beats sport craft with shippingt
