Maybe you should use your dong as bait!!! I hear that the smaller baits work best in the surf..:waglleybooty:

But bat rays and weirdo sharks do not count as surf fish- SORRY!

and surf fishing does suck here in so cal compared to every other beach in the USA. There is no doubt about it. It is as sure as the sun rising.

the only real surf fish you have a shot at here is halibut. Yeah Corbina are ok too - but the rest of it- blows!

Living in NJ sucked too but the surf fishing in the NE was way way better. . I liked Fla- fishing capital of world- but here I am.

With the water here - you would suspect that it was loaded with larger game fish in the surf. But God has other plans.

Your info says you live in Coronado (damn thats where I fish mostly) so you probably have the $ to go fish wherever you want. Leave our weirdo sharks and bat rays to us. The Gulp sand worms are hard to find sometimes and we don't need another guy buying them all up  You sound like you might be "that guy" on your offshore tuna trips that you moved here for. What boats do you fish on?

I grew up in Ventura CA and did plenty of surffishing as a pier rat, then moved to Florida and found out what REAL surf fishing was like. He may have a small weiner but he's right about the other thing. Pretty common to catch HUGE sharks and other large gamefish right off the beach in FL....I miss it down there.

Hope the water is not too cold as we all know what happens in cold water!!! I think the fish is always bigger than yours.

You are correct. Surf fishing in Southern California is lame. A big waste of time IMO.

Here's a simple solution, move back to the East Coast. We could always use less people in Southern California.

The simple answer is that on the Pacific Coast we have the Humbolt Current coming from Alaska, were the East Coast has the WARM Carribean
    Current.

all shit talking aside, Coronado is a great place to fish and its NEVER crowded so if you see me out there come say hello. Also they don't mess with you for having a beer or two as long as you're not causing a ruckus

Surfing or Running on the beach. I have surf fished there three times and caught 1 sub legal butt each time on a small yozuri crystal minnow. I like flatfish fishing, as I started my fishing career off on Fluke in Jersey as a kid.
