Hello, im 15, and i am addicted to fishing. From the northeast, I fish a channel, the surf and estuaries which are all in biking distance for me. I am out every day, recently chasing albies and schoolies in the creek. (estuarie) I am full blown obsessed as i have been for the past three years. I go everyday, and 8 hours on the weekends, but the thing is my main friend group is just as obsessed. Not complaining, fishing has brought me fun, adventures, friends, and a sh*t ton of vitamin D. Just wondering if anyone else had a childhood like this.

Early 80's(no trespassing)-Navy Golf course in Los Alamitos, Ca. Used an opening
in the fence to get in, went to catch Bluegill then flyline them,
for the Bass. Until the M.P. took one of my friends in for trespassing
Game Over.:Dynamite: Fishing was in my Blood early on.

If you have never been chased out of a fishing spot by a cop or a crazy homeowner, you have never lived as a teen just trying to get some fish.

Been an addict since about the age of 5 and it seems to only get worse and more expensive as the years go on! Enjoy the addiction!!

When I was young the only places we fished (from shore anyway) were the places it was illegal to be at...

One of the best things in life is to have a fishing pole in your hands , the thrill and the hunt of catching fish never wanes and you'll meet a lot of good people along the way , your addiction will only get worse and theres a lot worse things to be addicted to, so have fun build your fishing arsenals and good luck in your fishing adventures , sea you on the water

Consider yourself very lucky to have found something at a relatively young age that gives you so much joy.....and don't look back.

Its instinct. Just something about conning tasty wild life into hands reach. You get to see it alive and twitching, and admire the beauty of God's creation. Harvesting is just the happy ending to the adventure of the hunt and capture.

It only gets worse. Plan your education and career path around what will keep you near water and able to afford a boat and you will be happy!

Don't join the Army lol. I had to start hunting deer for a few years until I got out.

Been chased out of my share of golf courses at 12-15 that had trophy bass in their ponds. Now I do everything legal and have a great time.

My mother took me fishing when I was 9 years old and my first time out I lost a huge lake trout right at shore. I have been chasing fish all over the planet for the past 40 years:) Welcome to the club!

When you're young you just want to go fishing
later a good day will be catching a ton of fish
later still you'll be happy catching one really big fish
when you're old you'll just want to go fishing
