Decided to go out yesterday afternoon with my son. We took a quick look at the Horseshoe and it didn't look too promising. Water was cold (62), compare to last week. Went to the Flats and Izors and found the fleet there. Water was a few degrees warmer, but still cooler than last week. We set up a couple drifts and landed a few legal bass, but towards the end my son landed this whopper on a plastic. Had to stick it with a gaff because he was on 20lb and this guy was BIG. I think this was the biggest Sandy I've seen caught in person. Needless to say, he was stoked.
Measured 25", but we didn't have a scale.

Wow, what a beast. That picture should be printed, framed and displayed in a prominent spot in your home.

I was thinking the same thing. He's usually outfishes me and he's been on long range trips since he was 7. Last year he won the Jackpot and was on the cover of the Spirit of Adventure pamphlet. I'll post it sometime.
