The Town Hall Report on the Hatchery Program was released today by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Recreational Anglers showed overwhelming support for continuation of the White Seabass Hatchery Program operated by Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute. Here is a link to the Article that includes a link to the Report.

Until today I was unaware that Commercial guys are paying $52.27 for an Ocean Enhancement Stamp that funds the OREHP. Recreational Anglers pay $5.66. Recreational Anglers are tagged with an approximately 11% increase for Ocean Enhancement Stamps while Commercial Fishermen are tagged with a 37% increase for the Ocean Enhancement Stamps. Out of the 1.6 Million Recreational Fishing licenses purchased in 2018 264,595 included the Ocean Enhancement Stamp (16%) for a total of $1,497,607 revenue generated for OREHP. As for the Commercial guys out of 6,004 licenses issued 1,137 included the Ocean Enhancement Stamp (18%) for a total of $59,431 in OREHP Revenue. OREHP generated $1,557,038.
