What brand do you use? Have you been successful getting the squid to float? I see these brands are available: Brinkman and Optronics for $15 to $30. or this brand AlumiGlo - 48 Inch Price: $204.00. Hydro Glow 4 foot LED light $240.

    Thanks

Green is supposed to work the best. I got a pair of transom mount led's on clearance from West Marine. I believe they were Dr. LED.

Last time I used them, they floated the squid so well I had to look up to make sure we weren't running aground. About a half dozen boats around me with no lights weren't getting any squid while I was jigging up 6 at a time. Could've pulled up 50 at a time with the right net. I call total BS on ANYONE who doesn't think the lights help.

If you have a bigger boat and a few bucks Bankrobbers set up is the sheet.

If you have a small boat without an inverter or generator, get a Hydroglow LED.

I remember when dean, aka bankrobber, first started making them and we were fishing at lajolla....when we had all the squid we needed he turn off the light and suddenly I realized that the other boats had lights on too!...in fact one yelled "finally, thanks for letting us have some"....we had a good chuckle over that. His lights put a circle of light under the boat that is almost like the commercial boats.
Better call him early cause he is working out of town a lot and may not have time too make them up quickly.
