I got into some 100# BFT the past few weeks and wanted to start researching my gear for next year (and maybe sneak another trip in this year?).
I'd like to get a 60# setup for BFT. What size Talica should I consider? and thoughts on pairing it with the Terez rod?

My set-up for 100 pound grade tuna is a Talica 12 and a Terez 70XH. If you wanted a little more line capacity, you could go with a Talica 16.

I have a Tac 10, 12 and various Trinidads. My next Talica willl be a 20 spooled with 100. I can troll or fish 80 or 100 or 130 topshots.

Im with Jonathan here. I use talica 12 with 65lb spectra filled to brim with 60lb leader; however, if you are on a sporty, you may want more line capacity with a talc 16, 80lb spectra.

    I use a 66xh terez…because I'm short. lol

    I use a 12 for 40, a 16 for 60 and a 20/25 for 80.

The 12 loaded with 80Maxcuatro and your 60 pound leader will be fine. A slightly lighter and smaller package than the 16. Both will work, it just depends on what feels most comfortable to you.

I use the Tac 12 with about 400 yd TT and 50' of either 50# or 60# mono in-line splice with 4' of flouro tied to the end. Last year put a 135# YFT on the boat with 60#. No problem with line capacity. I also pull hard with 30%, (18#) of drag at strike. Used a 7' UC Predator.

Set my buddies reel up with 500 yd of 65# Maxcuatro and about 50-60 yd of 50# mono. He not good at line control for using spectra. With this setup he is fishing with mono and spectra is backing only. Plenty of line for play with.
