Hey guys, I'm building several new rods and need some help choosing guides. I just picked up a bunch of graphighters: 900xl(20#), 900l(25#), 900m(30#), 900h(40#), 850h(40#), 800xh(50#), 700xh(50/60#). I was thinking about using the lnsg's for the xl and l, mnsg's for the m and h's, and hnsg's for the xh's. My question is what is the heaviest line test that I can use on the mnsg's , and do you think that the hnsg is a good choice, or should I go with the turbo type guides? Maybe I should use the mnsg's on all of them? Oh, I'll be fishing the new trini's on the 900's and 850 and talica 12 and 16 on the xh's.

I would use the HNSGs on all of them

On the 900xl? Neah, titanium turbos sound better. Is there a line rating for each class of nsg's. I'm still a rookie rod wrapper so that's why I'm asking. These will be my personal rods so I'm just looking for some guidance. I want to get it right the first time.

MNSG on everything to 30lbs, and switch to HNSG at 40lbs. The MNSG is still a fairly light frame and could be damaged under light abuse.

nope...
Have to agree with Matt on the guide choice. I really like the HNSG's for 40-60# sticks.
Another important part of picking the guides is getting the right number of guides for each of these rods and guide placement. We are having a class tonight in Costa Mesa at my shop if you would like some help...

I would use NSG's on the 900XL & L, MNSG's on the 900M, 900H & 850H, and either MNSG's or HBSG's on the 800XH & 700XH. You could also just use the HBSG stripper on the XH's and MNSG's to the tip. Fuji SiC's are my favorite guides to use and will work awesome on those Grafighters. I've had customers catch fish in excess of 80# on the MNSG's, they are plenty strong enough. The HBSG's are nice if you need a higher frame guide.
