My 3 trips have all been with Roy and yes, a funny guy. I remember a couple of lines that he threw out that still make me laugh… :D

Agree with David...saw more than just the ability to find fish, or keep customers happy with both when they were partners on the Q...medical emergency at Clarion(heart attack)...Klein acted as nurse/Dr. and did a damn fine job, and Johnny ran the boat and all the political bullshit to get permission for the Coast Guard to land at Socorro...with a lot of help from LoPreste on the phones to DC from SD...some knock Klein, I'd pay money to fish with him again, because if the shit hit the fan, I know he won't fold...

I loved fishing with Sean Trowbridge and did many many 2-3 day trips with him. But he was an asshole and he passed it onto his crew which made it worse. Aron who runs the Shogun now was on the Legend and thank goodness he didn't pick up the attitude from Sean.

Nobody mentioned Joe Crisci from the Q. He ran a tight ship and went the extra mile to catch fish.

Are you kidding. He was good but you also have to look at a captain that maintains his vessel ect ect. The Q105 went to shit in a hand basket and is no longer in SD.

I'd call Sarah at 5 Star if I really wanted to know. But Mike and Brian on the SOA get my vote.

You are speaking of two different things. John Klein ran some great trips, I have nothing but the highest of respect for him that way.
However, because of his nice giving nature, he was a horrible businessman. That is why the boat deteriorated.

With all I have ever been with it is not even close, Mike on the Vagabond. No BS or excuses, the deck hands toe the line, he always puts us on the fish. I have never talked to or even met some one who knows as much about catching fish as Mike does. I just laugh about fisherman on his boat who don't follow his advise and at the end of the trip wonder why their fish count is down.
