Book a trip for Springers out of the Columbia.

Assuming it's open on the date you are here, and assuming you are talking about Vancouver, Wa.

Alright, so the Fraiser river supports a run of Springers as well I believe, not to mention some really big sturgeon. Out of Victoria you could chase Halibut and spot shrimp, and probably salmon.

However... It will be cold, and most likely shitty, and you freeze your socal (?) ass off. If you are really, really lucky, you might just get to go on a day with intermittent wind, rain, and snow! :picknose:

check out fishingwithrod.com. seriously there's fish reports there. it's not perverted like saluki.

might be able to get spring salmon out of vancouver harbor around that time. if you want a cool trip - you can get an am fly in somewhere (check out campbell river) and even fly back that evening. maybe make it a one night stay over?

won't be that expensive - couple hundred bucks.

if i have time in april i might be game for a quick flight to campbell river (on vancouver island) - you bring good tequila. you fly fish?

April is an excellent time to be on the water locally if the wind allows-it's relatively short run over to the East Coast of Vancouver Island too.

April isn't great for Sturgeon once the melt starts it's a tough place to fish but all is not lost-don't count on any Salmon action on the river though.

Fishing out of Victoria is often excellent @ that time too-Halibut on offer as well..

Forget Campbell River that place died years and years ago.

Oh Yeah-there'll be so many fucking flowers in bloom your Wife won't notice you're gone.

well things over in that country are a little bit different as far a rules seasons and regs are concerned, but if it is open in Canada then there will be halibut to chase and it is way too early to chase chinook salmon, however the immature hatchery local chinook called blackmouth are in the straights of juan de fuca year around. they are very temperamental and and difficult to find. your best bet if you are unfamiliar with the area and chinook fishing, is to just pay the money and get a reputable guide. otherwise you stand a large chance of getting skunked and wasting your money. good luck and happy fishing!:hali_olutta::jig:
