where are the BIG tunas?

    looking to get the 100plus tuna last I heard was the 43 any real comment would be Great.

    Haven't heard of anything that big going on at the 43 for at least several weeks, the big guys likely continued north.

    I was out at the 43 on Sunday at daybreak and we did not see much of anything no meters or paddies and even less bird action. We trolled for about two hours got one nice mahi-mahi, and then headed east, just west of the 182 we found productive paddies with YFT and Mahi-Mahi, but nothing that you could not catch much closer to shore.

    IMO we had a small window with the warm temps rising the big boys moved out and the yellowfin moved in. But you never can tell there could be a few just lurking around

    There was a photo on another site of a 130 and a 150 taken out of oceanside over the weekend.

    On Tuesday we(Marlin Club) weighed in a 208 and a couple of $130's
    Supposedly came from the 43 area
    Be prepared -80 to 100lb tackle is a must
    Go fly a kite
