Maybe throw up a wanted ad? Maybe a guy who's been on the fence about selling comes across you. Can't hurt. Problem with Parkers and their owners is that they know exactly what the market is out here, and it's not in the buyers' favor.

For what it is worth....I am liking the Steiger line. Not many around the SoCal basin, but they are reportedly a very nice vessel. I think Oakland is "our" nearest dealer resource.

Apparently they are not over priced here as they all seem to sell quickly. There's a lot of junk offered for sale on the East Coast.

The junk is priced accordingly. Not every east coast Parker is "junk", there are some nice ones to be had for a lower price then their Socal counterparts. Why do you think a lot of people buy east coast Parkers? The thing that drives the price here in Socal is the demand and the hype, hence the inflated price point. Supply and demand is what dictates the price here, it's simple.

It is not Parker Hype.... it is simple numbers "supply and demand" Florida and other Eastern states have more supply which means they can easily meet the demand, so prices are pushed down as competition requires better pricing. This is not for Parkers, its is for all manufacturers.

Are West Coast boats inflated? No.... it is simple supply and demand, less to go around causes prices to be higher. Straight business and if you go out to Florida and get you a nice Parker and later decide to sell, I doubt you will offer it up less than market value. And if you do.... good for you nice guy...

Go East, save money and enjoy or pay the price locally for the convenience...

I agree. I decided to buy from the east coast and my budget has now gone up $15k. I can literally buy the same boat in the east coast that a local Aneheim Dealer is selling for $101k for just $65k with only 30 hours on the outboard and set up virtually identical. The mark up out here is ridiculous but that's just supply and demand as we both said it. I would rather pay $3k-$4k extra for shipping than $36k extra for convenience.

A dealer mark up is not the same. Dealer offers financing which also allows for a higher price.

I wouldn't buy a cheap boat from TX or FL anytime soon. If I do, I'd have two different surveyors look at it.
