Gary, thank you for sharing your story. Glad to hear you had such a good trip and I hope you have a complete and healthy recovery. My wife was diagnosed in July with Stage IV gastric cancer. Not what a healthy 46 year old expects to find out. It really made us stop and think about what is most important in life because your time here is short and you never know when it might be gone. I had drawn an elk tag and had pretty much written off going hunting. About a week before the hunt my wife tells me "you really need to go on your elk hunt". I told her okay but only for two days. On the morning of the 2nd day I scored this 6x6. We refer to him as the "cancer bull". 6 days later my 11 year old daughter scored on her first deer, yep, the "cancer buck". Life is to short, enjoy it while it lasts! Work hard and play harder!
