Latest report says mostly 40-60lb BFT being caught. Latest tackle recommendation is 30lb test + small flat falls.

On my upcoming 4-Day on Shogun May 19-23 I'm bringing everything from 25# fluoro up to 200#... Everything from my Tilefish Jr/Torque 25 up to my Viper/Mak 20. Jigs from 80 grams up to 500 grams. Hooks from size 4 up to 6/0. And I'm still SURE there is something I'm gonna Want but not Have!

biggest issue last weekend was actually getting jigs down in the zone due to the ripping wind and current. Use a big enough size to keep from scoping out front of you, then worry about what they’ll eat. When we didn’t get down far enough, nothing else mattered.

It is suppose to blow solid 20's for the next 5 days. What weight jigs and sinkers do you think you will need?

250 gram and up to combat the drift, wind and current worked for me. I got a 16lber and a 40lber on the 320 Nomad Buffalo jig so the size didn’t deter the smaller grade fish. It was as simple as needing to get in the right area of the water column versus size of the jig.

I need to make a stand like that. I already have one for long term storage but I need one to hold my rigs as I prep them up to go on a trip. Currently, I just lean them up on something and eventually they go sliding (which completely sux).
