Bringing this thread back from the dead. Would like to hear a few more success stories. Going to pick up a 300d and a 400d.

The 400 D is an awesome little reel!! Tons of yft the past couple of years on it... Finally getting it serviced after 2 seasons of abuse with no maintenance what so ever!!!

Plenty of 20# yellows. Most impressive little reel I've fished. Put a power handle on it and it will hang with anything local.

wow I want one... I see it has 50/275, 65/170, 80/140 on braided spool. I see above people use for BFT big Yellowtails. How would you guys approach the spooling for this beast? 50# braid with short top shot of 20-30# fluoro?

I run 50# Maxcuatro on my personal reel with a 30# leader for throwing the small poppers and Colt Snipers.

I fish phenix black diamond inshore rods with mine... Depends how you want to use the reels... Will be switching gears and start to do slow pitch jigging with them for shallow water rockfish...
