With the recent news that a short range boat has already had a trip that limited out on Bluefin....the frenzy of the season is upon us! Fred Hall has past ....at least the big show.....most people have plotted and planned by now and have a good plan in place with the family general to allow them to escape for a time .....into the long range arena.

So what trip or trips are you taking this year?

For me it's an exploratory season as I'm going on two of the Long boats I haven't been on before. After this year I will have been on all of them except the Searcher.

Memorial Day 3 day on the Excel

Last December 10 day on the Indy

What ever trip your on I wish you the best of times! May the weather and fish align and may that guy provide you good laughs throughout the year!

    Good Luck!

First trip, already in the books and will repeat this season as well. 14 day on the Angler January 10-24. Same dates 2017. Limited load of 18 is awesome! This trip is sponsored by Accurate Reels and the chartermaster is Gary Teraoka, who introduced us all to the nail knot / nub system.

Then an 8 day, also on the Angler, June 5-13, sponsored by Catcy Tackle.
John Grindley usually chartermasters this trip, nice man.

September is a 6 day on the Rooster, 9/23-29, sponsored by Calstar, bonus is fishing with none other than Mr Nubs himself, Gary Teraoka. As a Pro Staffer for not only Calstar, but Accurate and Izorline as well, he brings a wealth of knowledge, plenty of relevant swag, and is fun to share the rail with. Really like the dates for this one as we depart on Friday along with the Spirit, Saturday Royal Star turns around for a 7 day and Sunday the 25th........

    wait for it........

Eight boats are turning around, 4 from Fisherman's and 4 from Point Loma.

American Angler Rockys 8 day opener. Leaves memorial weekend. Back the day Steve K's June trip departs. Got my first hoo last year on this trip. Met up with the guys at their booth at long beach, they are excited as I am and they can't wait to see what new poppers/stickbaits I'll be bringing this year. Gonna be fun.

    Just one booked this year...

15 days on the Excel in 3 weeks.

I could either squeeze in another trip of 3-5 days somewhere or save that vacation and roll it over next year, try to get 2 long trips in.

Of all the trips you might start with, maybe the best possible choice in light of the opportunity to catch a triple digit Yellowfin at Guadalupe. Hope it bites half as well as it did last year.
