I want to remove the existing silver soldered rings and treble hooks from some jigs. These are the rings that come standard on Tady and Salas lures. Wondering what tools folks are using to do this? Thanks!

I just use my dykes. But you need to cut at the existing brass join. That's the softest spot on the ring. Otherwise I cut through the stainless steel ring with my cable cutters. The ones I use to cut my Sevenstrand wire

I use bolt cutters and cut across the diameter of the ring. This eliminates the need to twist the ring to remove. Watch out, though, the cutoff parts will go flying! The Dremel tool works, but makes a needless, dusty mess.

I bought a pair of cheap bolt 12" cutters 8 years ago at Harbor Freight...they work perfect no need to buy expensive name brands have cut hundreds of rings...free replacement to boot if they ever fail...
