I was thinking some where in between a Trinidad 16 or a 20 what do you guys think. Im going to use it for light jigs and also flyline in the channel islands. I'm open to other reels tho

Mega is a good 30 lb stick and 16 or 16n works fine.

    16. 20 too big. I’d prefer a 16n.

I like the 16... 16n to narrow for me. I don’t have big hands but feel the Narrow smaller sized reels are too Narrow. I will fish narrow in larger size reels Accurate 500N 600N. Take a look at the Accurate Valiant 400 go single speed for 30 lb. I really like them 400 single speed for 30 lb and 2-speed for 40 lb. I just started fishing them last year and like them

It’s nice to cast big swim baits to flyline a chovie. I use it on a SSR 80H and 810. If your gonna throw light jig or plastics a lot go star drag. I fish bait and big plastic with that set up

Try Eric’s Tackle he usually has a decent selection and always willing to set you up right. I go through him for all my tackle

I see your Local .... I have plenty of reels you can bring your rod by and see what you like from there. And have Eric order you one... once you decide. I try to support small shops
