    What not to do...
Be too busy at work and just rely on what was happening 2 weeks ago even though you know better. I was one of those guys that got his personal best BF a couple of weeks ago around the 181 when they were flying out of the water like missiles so I thought all of that fish could not have dried up completely......
I saw nothing but dead water all day yesterday even though I had some clients in from out of state and it would have been great to put them on the fish. no patties, no life, no birds on the 181 to around the 43, and no boats either. I read and heard about the 371 but these guys only had bought American licenses so I didn't risk it. I did find some patties around the 9 on the way in but they were dry. I hope this helps some of your planning gents.

Seems like FishDope could have been useful here.

Mex licenses are easily obtained online on your smartphone. You get a PDF that conapesca recognizes.

    Thanks for the report.

Well....back in the olden days we would go out on 2 week old intel. Now with all the most current information an angler can still strike out! You still got clients on the water and hopefully they appreciate the effort you made.

Thank you for posting up , that took guts. You'll get em next time !

BFT bite moved west, but the quantity and quality isn't even close to what it was. Boats are on YFT down south now, or yellowtail at the islands and along the coast.

I wish i could get an "america license", similar to mexicos federal license. having to buy them for each state blow.

That would only happen if the feds controlled the fishery. Could you imagine what a cluster fuck that would be? Sacremento is bad enough. A federal fishery would be a nightmare, IMHO.

Offshore we are fishing federal water/laws anyway. I think you only need a license to bring the fish back into CA.

I think an "America License" would be awesome. It would cover from Peru to Alaska, but I digress. Perhaps you mean a "United States License"?

To OP: Congrats on a great day on the water fishing not catching.

You're not the only one. Every fisherman has done something similar or worse.
However, it takes a real man to own it and share it, so that others learn from it.
    For that, I salute you!
