    Benelli. Inertia driven.

I shot over 1000 rounds thru mine in ice, snow, rain, salton mud and summer dirt without cleaning it. On purpose. It never failed.

Probably an older 870, either a Wingmaster or Police model... The first one I had was built in 1961... Who knows who many shots I put through it with zero problems plus what the previous owner or owners put through it...

Saiga 12. It's built on an AK platform. You can convert it to wood stock and pistol grip to make it look JUST like an AK rifle. Detachable 12 round magazine (more than that if you're in a free state). In CA, you need a mag lock to avoid CA assault weapon laws.

I don't think that's what the OP was getting at, but it is the AK of shotguns :)

Oh yeah, there's THIS version of the Saiga 12 also:

Benelli Nova. Bomb proof. I've got a Stoeger ( rip off of the benelli action) for sale if you're lookin. Camo, 28" barrel barely used all factory chokes included. Make me an offer. :D

The 870 is one of the most reliable sytems there is in a shotgun.

Mossberg model 500. Take it apart in 10 seconds, clean the mud out and put it back together in under 5 minutes.
As to lifespan? I got my first one (Old Ugly) when I was 11 years old. I'm 41 now, and I have hunted that same gun every year since with the exception of 2008 when I challenged myself to use only a 20ga. for a year. The old gun looked so damn sad in the cabinet I dusted her off and took it back into the field. It works perfectly for upland game; the only issue is it does not like the cheap Winchester ammo. I stick to Federal, Remington and have no issues. FWIW, the Winchester ammo seems to clog in our Rem. 1100, and in even our old single shot Rossi guns; both 20&12 ga. The brass expands a lot, and it jams in the damn guns.
I could not venture to guess how many rounds have gone through this gun...... but the US has won entire wars shooting less ammo than this thing has seen!!

Browning Citori! I spent 12 years hunting Doves in Mexico with mine. Multiple trips per year, and neither gun, 28 or 410 has ever been apart. Thousands of rounds through both guns.
