first, I appreciate your request for feedback, best luck in your business

all hands on deck (from my experience in the navy) calls for mustering topside for work or an inspection or an event (such as sailing into port) -- quite different from a call to battle stations

in your use, I would have recommended asking that question -- and developing your retail story -- before naming the business to get your branding tuned

at this point, I would be more interested in hearing your retail story than giving you my two cents on your business name, but I would always refer you back to what picture pops into your head: "Hands on Deck" (and build your logo around that)

Wanting to be the next Salty Crew no doubt. Wasting time with the sneaky advertising was the first red flag but then comes the dumb name and shitty logo that has nothing to do with the brand, trying to sell it to this group was Ops biggest mistake. maybe the la Mirada swapmeet? This is a fishing forum not a fucking fashion show!

Hands on Deck doesn’t mean anything. All hands on deck does! In business, all hands on deck means get ready for a maximum effort. Use it to often and you get tuned out. I had a head of IT who said something was his #1 priority, it was his 44th #1 priority but it was still #1. I decided that meant he had no priorities and wrote him off… I left soon after that. No HOD t-shirts for me either, thanks anyway.

    Downward Dog ?

Sorry, just kidding. "All hands on deck" has a meaning. "Hands on Deck" does not.

Good luck. Hope your new phrase catches on.

They can probably trademark “Hands on Deck” whereas “All Hands on Deck” is either already trademarked or cannot be because of some legal gobbledegook. Just my legal analysis.
