I’m home going through my gear wishing i was out fishing. I was curious and wondered what’s everyone’s yo-yo setup? Mine is a calstar 700h match with a penn fathom 40nld2. Before the penn I was using a progear Pacifica 3000.

I have a bunch... 50#: Avet JX Raptor/UC Tilefish, Daiwa Saltiga 40LD2/Phenix phd760xh, 40#: Avet JX-2/Seeker 6465H, Penn Fathom 25nld2/Phenix 700xh, 60#: Avet HX Raptor/UC Predator 76. I’ve used a TranX 500 HD/Phenix 809xhj with good effect too. Back in the day I used a Pro Gear Pacifica 3500, Albacore Special 540 or a tricked out YTS.

I'm still trying to figure mine out. I didn't grow up practicing on conventional reels, so trying to yo yo while working my thumb is really uncomfortable for me.

Currently, I use a Komodo 463 paired with a United Composites rod. I love the level wind on a really strong reel.

800h and Ocea jigger 5000. I don’t need the clicker of the Trinidad for jigging but I might use the spool lock every now and again and the Ocea is more narrow and taller thus it level winds itself . Heaven with a JRI bomb

Was trying to sell the rod, basically a Black Steel 6460XH with the butt extended a bit so it’s about 6’6”. Rod didn’t sell, so I bought another reel (like I needed one):) Grabbed a very nice Pro Gear 454, backed it with 80 lb hollow and topped it with a long topshot of 50 lb mono. Not sure, though, that it’s up to snuff for Guadalupe duty. Those Yellows are big and nasty! Like the 39 lb unit in my avatar pic.

Calstar 700h or XH depending on where I'm fishing and an Accurate 665h2-speed loaded with 65lb solid to a 100yd 50lb top shot. Great combo that has never let me down

While your drag will get er done... Two speeds sure do make it easier if they aren't eating boat paint.
I love the Pro-gears on the surface.
