Whale Watching Forum?

Happy Holidays All!

I know that this is not the appropriate forum to post/ask this but anybody know of a forum with info about whale sightings or want to offer any info that might save a guy some wandering and put his kids on some whales in the San Pedro area this holiday week?

I hear that there are even some Killer Whales in the area right now!

Any help that might save some time (we are in Wilmington so it takes more than 1/2 hour just to get to the L.A. light) as kids are not the most patient and understanding type when it comes to long boat rides

Saw multiple "grey whales" including a what seemed to be a mother and calf. (big and small spout close) together. This was yesterday on a trip back from San Nic Is. Whales were North/West of Catalina. Saw at least 7. Good luck

Very easy to find without looking for them NW from Rocky Point on Sunday.

Lots of birds and ponies in the area as well.

We had a gray go right under us in 80' right west of Rocky point.

There were plenty out there, a little cruising north from Pedro and they should be there.

HELL NO! Re: a whale watching forum. That's a slippery slope that would lead to a blowboating forum moderated by Ali.
Next a live feed from ch. 68 on the vhf

Prolly go over well in the Washi Forum though.

I like the idea. Can we get a Sail boat and Trawler forum as well? Maybe a forum for those individuals who don't really want to fish but just love being outdoors and witnessing all of the ocean's natural beauty; especially how wonderful sea lions are.

you just need to find a local spotter i did this for awhile. some of the whale tour boat pay people to find the whale ahead of time. i was on channel 68

Saw a couple of killer whales killing a whale calf last summer.... One of those orcas followed my boat for a while when I left.....
