Well I got my son to get a day off work, hes a deck hand on the Patriot, along with my bro,Bob we join our good friend John on his boat and head out at O dark 30. We get to Newport Bait and pick up a great scoop of bait and them head outside the harbor to top it off with some killer mini macks.
We head off shore looking for the right one.We find one just past the 14 and nobodys home.We move on.As we are looking we see a few boats out towards the 277 so we start the run.
As we slide in all the boats around us are bendo.Staying about 50 yards off the paddy we put our lines out and its GAME ON.Dorado and yellows fish jumping ,it's like a dream. No words can discribe it.At one time all four of us are bendo ,laughing our asses off ,blood everwhere and the fish box is getting full.Heres a side note,It was something to see my son killing it and for us older guys to be learning a thing or two from him.
As the morning shines on Jeff goes to the bow and hooks a nice yellow gets him to boat ,we all look over to him as he bounces another nice yellow. Then he releases it.Right on Jeff. Well its only 11 a.m and we are out of bait.No big deal as we don't need to keep any more,15 dodos and 6 yellows. So after only 2 and a half hours of fishing we all shake hands a head home................What a day best day of fishing I can remember ,with my son ,Bro and our good friend. Priceless..........Bill
