Launched out of Waianae Sunday morning at about 6:00 and headed straight out. Early in the morning we seen a school of Pilot Whales past S bouy so I wasn't expecting any action the rest of the day. Nonetheless, we followed scattered birds that took us near the Pinnacle. The birds started bunching up and then we seen a porpoise pile. Played the porpoise pile and were lucky enough to land 2 Ahis in that pile[IMG]. Eventually lost the school [IMG] so we trolled some more and landed a 20lb Mahi. With 3 fish in the boat we returned to the harbor for an early day[IMG]. Water was nice and a great day on the ocean. Both Ahis were about 140lbs.

Congrats on your great catch! The bait must be hanging around the pinnacle up to the "pocket" area because I came accross a porpoise pile by the pocket, but wasn't as successful sticking the fish and there were bird piles all the way from the pinnacle area out to 20 miles (heading in a southwesterly direction) and probably beyond.

    Awesome catch, jonski!

Porpoises and ahi at the pinnacle -- that's very good news.

I tweaked my back on Saturday and hoped that it would improve enough to get out on the water yesterday. It didn't happen.

Nice and hell yeah the water was nice! Debated on running to the pinnacle, water was clean enough to make it a comfy ride. Good to hear there was some action out that way!
