DITTO!!!! If I need bait real late I just hit up LBBC.
If you pull up from midnight to 4am - and you don't see any lights on - the secret bait code is 4 long horn blasts.
This is the funniest post I've seen - - If you know Nacho, you know why I am Laughing so hard right now.....I can hear him now after those 4 horn blasts - He would be yelling .." I clooosed !!! "
Bar none - The best bait around - been going to him 20+ years.
He is a great guy, treat him right it is worth it!!
Great, why dont you tell him about the secret hand shake while you are at it!!!
He's not hard to find , Here is his barge
Yep that's it. He's my first choice.............if I don't have bait
Which bait boat supplies Nacho. I am assuming that it's not LBBC or SPB.
He has his own boat, its called Queso Dia
I'm sure you work very hard to get your clients on fish and happy to do it. Do you decline your tips ? Whether your being served a steak dinner or couple of scoops of sardines it is proper to tip IF THE SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL. I have been going to Nacho for years and those guys take care of me.I have gotten live bait from all the receivers up and down the coast and you dont always get treated right. If your treated shitty or the dude is rude Fuck 'um. But your right. Some of this tipping crap is out of control.
Oh yeah and Anthony in San Pedro does a great job too!
Big fatty will get you extra!
Who does "big fatty" work for. Is he on Nacho's barge?
I love big fatty's.
I tend to give my business to LB and SPB, as I think they give the best overall service. They post up bait info on the boards, they answer thier phone most of the time, and they don't mind the late night stop ins (or at least bitch about it). Not to mention the bait is pretty decent and the scoops are always more then fair.
Nothing against Nacho, as I have bought bait from many time, and only experienced his "reputation" once...but I like to give my money to the ones who work for, and appreciate my dollors.
I know the guys who own SPB and they are great, but why would I launch at Davies and then drive the boat all the way up the line to Pedro. With gas prices the way they are it just doesn't make sense.
Thankfully in LB we have plenty of options and the competition is good for the consumer. I only wish DP and SI offered the same.
With respect to Nacho, after reading the majority of responses to this thread, obviously I'm not alone in my sentiments. I'll leave it at that.
CHALK ONE UP FOR THIS GUY RIGHT HERE!
Dont give away the secret code!
San Pedro Bait isnt that far out of the way if you depart from Los Alamitos and are headed for the west end. The service and the size of the scoops make up for the small detour. then you can make most of the channel crossing in the lee of the San Pedro Peninsula, and if you are headed to ben Weston, your run on the backside is down swell.
you guys are a kick
