January 3, 2019 Very cold morning, headed out of Oside harbor at 8 am to fish skulpin at box cyn. 5 miles out we saw a large bird pile, Trolled through it with xraps, thinking it could be bonito. Turned out to be 60-80 lb BFT busting on bait balls. One of the trolls rods was hit and the 40 lb was no test for what ever ripped it. Threw poppers and irons, run and gun, until 10 for no love. Then we fished squid up North for skulpin. Dolphin showed up too! Some guy at the Harbor said his buddy caught 4 100 lber's on flatfalls today, but he seemed a little sketch... Great day for January!

Sweet, were you in the Parker, only other boat I saw on it. We were not prepared for the opportunity with the heaviest line on board was 65# spectra to 40# topshot. The bait tank is off the deck for lobster season, we bought one package of squid, we were supposed to be fishing for tacos! Sorry, for thinking your buddy was sketchy, NFIO

Per Instagram Landesfeind and Decker got one on a pretty small hardbait, presumably further north since they weighed it at BAC
